Made In Space and Braskem Create 'Green Plastic' Material for 3D Printing in Space
Thanks to a partnership between Made In Space and Braskem, astronauts on the International Space Station can now 3D print with “green plastic,” a material made from sugarcane. The first 3D printed part made using the material was a pipe connector for a vegetable irrigation system.

Additive Manufacturing - Technology Metals for Industrial 3D Printing
H.C. Starck, suppliers of specialist metals, provide a range of technology metals to be used specifically in additive manufacturing (3D printing). Additive manufacturing allows highly complex and geometrical parts to be produced as a whole - meaning less parts are required to create device components and the assembly time is reduced. This technology is becoming popular across the board - from the medical industry to aerospace.

Nanotechnology and 3D Printing Combine to Detect Toxic Liquids
Both carbon nanotubes and 3D printing have made headlines in scientific journals for a while now. Something unique happens when both are combined with the right polymer, in this case a thermoplastic. Electrical conductivity increases, enabling monitoring of liquids in real time. This is a big achievement for Polytechnique Montréal.
